Essential testing with an elevated experience

We exceed routine measures to ensure confidence in your results

Hematology testing may be routine, but the success of your research program depends on accurate results. We go above and beyond to meet your exacting requirements with:

  • 24 to 48 hour turn-around time for routine complete blood counts (CBC)
  • Best-in-class analyzers with custom gating for laboratory animal species
  • Equipment optimized to support minimum sample amounts and validated dilution protocols
  • Multiple QC material runs every day monitored by company-wide QC teams
  • Comparative hematology expertise, including technicians trained specifically for research animals with oversight by Board Certified Veterinary Clinical Pathologists
  • Well-developed QC procedures with regular technician competency reviews and rigorous QA oversight
  • Manual blood smear evaluations to ensure accurate output, classification of atypical cells, and identification of inflammatory changes in leukocytes
  • Customized testing availability to support research program needs

Possible Sample Type

EDTA whole blood in a lavendar top tube (LTT) is the preferred sample for most hematology services. Heparin-anticoagulated whole blood in a green top tube (GNTT) or sodium citrated whole blood in a blue top tube (BTT) are also acceptable.
chemIcon-storage

Storage

Refrigerate samples at 2-8°C, samples cannot be frozen. Samples should be analyzed within 72 hours for optimal results.

Shipping

Ship same day as collection refrigerated on cold packs - prevent from freezing.
chemIcon-volume

Volume Requested

Standard CBCs require 150 µL. Dilution strategies also available for lower volumes.
chemIcon-time

Turn Around Time

Most standard assays are reported within 3 days.
